Isoton (nuclear physics)
The nuclides of two different chemical elements (hence also of different atomic number ) are isotonic called when their atomic nuclei have the same number of neutrons have. The word isoton is a made-up word that is derived from isotop by replacing the p with an n (for neutron ).
