Issaron

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Issaron was an Israelite measure of the volume of dry goods mentioned in the Bible and by Josephus Flavius . The measure was a smaller one in the Cor or Chomer chain. Many dimensions of the chain also applied to liquids. All dimensions are assigned to the Babylonian-Assyrian system.

  • 1 Issaron = 1.8 Kab = 7.2 log ≈ 2.1 liters
  • 1 Cor = 2 Letech = 10 Epha / Bath = 30 Seah = 60 Hin = 100 Issaron ≈ 210 liters
