The Italia Valley ( Italian Conco Italia , Italian hollow ' ) is a small valley in the south of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is east-northeast of the Hervé Cove , a side bay of the Ezcurra Fjord .
An Italian Antarctic expedition carried out from 1975 to 1976 under the direction of the Italian entrepreneur Renato Cepparo (1916-2007) named it. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated the Italian designation into English in 1984.
