The Sindacato Nazionale Giornalisti Cinematografici Italiani ( SNGCI ) represents the interests of Italian film journalists.

This association was founded on March 17, 1946 . Among other things, its statutory duties include representing the professional interests of its members and advocating for the freedom of the press and, in particular, for the independence of film criticism . It also acts as the national section of the Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique (FIPRESCI), the international association of film journalists .

Italian and international filmmaking is recognized by the SNGCI by awarding several film prizes. The most important and oldest of these awards is the Nastro d'Argento ( German  silver ribbon ) , which has been awarded in various categories since 1946 . Since 1978, important personalities of Italian film have also been honored with the Pietro Bianchi Prize.

The current president of the SNGCI is Laura delli Colli .
