Iulius Marcellinus

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Iulius Marcellinus (his praenomen is unknown) was a member of the Roman army living in the 2nd or 3rd century AD .

A dedicatory inscription that was found at the Banna fort and that is dated 122/300 shows that Marcellinus Centurio was the Legio II Augusta . The inscription also shows that he was temporarily in command ( cuius curam agit ) of the Cohors I Aelia Dacorum . Both units were stationed in the province of Britannia at that time .
