Ivan Gélugne

Ivan Gélugne (* 1976 ) is a French jazz and classical musician ( double bass ).

Gélugne specialized in the double bass and won successively awards for exams in both jazz and classical music; he was also tutored by Joëlle Léandre , Riccardo Del Fra , Daniel Krammer, Francois Rossé and Thierry Barbé. He also had the opportunity to work under the direction of Georges Prêtre, Francois Xavier Roth, Jacques Mercier or Stéphane Cardon.

After several years in which he took part in numerous projects, including in the field of classical music, he joined the quartet of saxophonist Émile Parisien in 2004 , which was awarded a Victoire du Jazz as "French New Discovery of the Year" in 2009 and the prize in 2019 received by the German Record Critics . He has since performed worldwide with this quartet and has released five albums with them to date. He is also a member of the hard bop quintet Tourtiers and the Mallet Horn Jazz Band , with whom he released the album of the same name in 2015. He has also recorded the album Petite Moutarde with the violinist Théo Ceccaldi .
