Ivan Hadschipetrov
Ivan Chadschipetrow (also Ivan Hadschipetrow written Bulgarian Иван Хаджипетров ), outdated Ivan h. Petrov (Bulgar. Иван х. Петров; * 1834 in Kotel , Ottoman Empire ; † 1909 in Burgas , Bulgaria ), was a Bulgarian industrialist and politician , mayor of Burgas and finance minister of Eastern Rumelia . Ivan Hadschipetrov took part in the struggle for an independent Bulgarian church .
Ivan Hadschipetrov founded a mill in the port city of Burgas in 1872, which was the basis of the Great Bulgarian Mills (Bulgarian Големите български мелници) founded in 1884 and based in Paris . The Great Bulgarian Mills became one of the largest mills on the Balkan Peninsula . After the founding of Eastern Rumelia in 1878, Chadschipetrov became the first prefect of the canton of Burgas in 1879 and later a member of the eastern Rumelian parliament and finance minister of the province. After the unification of Bulgaria , he was a member of the Bulgarian delegation at the court of the Ottoman Sultan. In the first all-Bulgarian elections in 1886, Hadschipetrov was elected as a member of the Bulgarian parliament .

Ivan Hadschipetrov was married to Ganka Hadschipetrova. She campaigned for the numerous refugees in Burgas in the 1900s and founded a charity and the first orphanage in Burgas. A central square in the city bore the name Baba Ganka (to German grandmother Ganka) in her honor until the 1945s . After the Communists came to power, it was renamed Trojkata Square . Their son Stefan Chadschipetrov was also a politician and from May 21 to July 11, 1916 mayor of Burgas.
