Ivan Seliminsky
Ivan Georgiev Seliminski ( Bulgarian Иван Селимински * 1799 in Sliven , † 21st July 1867 Belgrade ) was a Bulgarian scholar and physician.
Life
Seliminski studied medicine in Florence . From 1845 to 1866 he worked as a doctor in Romania . During the Crimean War he organized Bulgarian free troops in support of Russia . In the course of the Bulgarian Church Struggle , he campaigned for the independence of the Bulgarian Church . Selminski also called for a secular education in Bulgaria and dealt with philosophy .
He wrote works in Greek on historical, philosophical and sociological topics.
