In Waterloo. The end is presented and analyzed the Battle of Waterloo , which was fought on June 18, 1815 between French troops under Napoleon Bonaparte on the one hand and an Allied force led by Arthur Wellesley, 1st Duke of Wellington , on the other. For example, the course of the battle, divided into individual phases, is illustrated and commented and interpreted by experts and historians at irregular intervals. The focus is on Napoleon and Wellesley, the protagonists of the film. The film also deals with five fictional characters - soldiers from different factions - whose individual impressions are shown during the battle.

reception

The Frankfurter Rundschau praises the fact that director Lanneau takes “well-researched glances” and contributes “illuminating answers and interesting questions” to the debate on the battle without forgetting the “human dimension of the longstanding warlike events”. The Belgian newspaper La Capitale briefly calls the film “spectacular and instructive”.
