Járnsíða

The Járnsíða ("iron side") is a medieval collection of laws for Iceland .

The Norwegian King Magnús lagabætir ("Law Improver") issued the Járnsíða in 1271. As early as 1281 it was replaced by the Jónsbók . Together with the Grágás (a legal book), the Járnsíða is contained in a codex , the Staðarhólsbók .
