Jónsbók
The Jónsbók is a historical Icelandic code of law.
It was initiated by Magnus VI. Håkonsson , written by Jón Einarsson in Norway and also bears his name ( Jón's book ). It was based on older Icelandic law books and the Norwegian Landslov . The Jónsbók was adopted by the Icelandic Althing in 1281 . The code replaced the Járnsíða , which had been in force since 1271 .
