history

In 1507 Rettchensdorf was mentioned for the first time during fiefdom transfer. The place and the neighboring Neudöbern were transferred to the brothers Siegmund and Hieronymus von Zieckau. The place name is probably derived from the personal name Radochl- (as in the original Sorbian name Radochla ), which also occurs in West Slavic place names. In 1761 the place was mentioned as Radochlize .

As a result of the Congress of Vienna , Rettchensdorf came to the Kingdom of Prussia . The place belonged to the Prussian district of Calau . On January 1, 1925, Rettchensdorf was incorporated into Neudöbern. After the Second World War, Neudöbern and Rettchensdorf were incorporated together with neighboring Luckaitz to Schöllnitz. In 1952 the place remained in the newly founded district of Calau . On March 31, 2002, Schöllnitz merged with its localities Neudöbern, Rettchensdorf and Luckaitz with the towns of Buchwäldchen, Muckwar and Gosda to form the municipality of Luckaitztal.
