The Myslivna (German hunting cabins or Farrenberg , 1040 m) is a mountain with a distinctive conical peak in the Farrenbergen, a part of the Gratzener highlands ( Novohradské ). The Jägerhütten is located 5 km southeast of Pohorská Ves ( Theresiendorf ), 3 km and 2.5 km west of the Czech-Austrian border.
In the 1960s there was an air defense system on the Farrenberg. In the early 1970s, the system was relocated to the Bohemian Forest .
Nature reserve
The Přírodní památka Myslivna nature reserve is located on the north-western slope of the Farrenberg . Its task is to protect the acidophilic mountain pine and the beech forest.
Access
There is no marked path to the top. One possibility is to ascend from the Pohořský rybník Reservoir on a forest road first to the east and after about 1.5 km to the north. After another 1.5 km the forest road turns left and ends after less than a kilometer at the refuge on the summit. A relatively high ridge ( Lovčí hřbet ) with several striking rock formations runs southeast of the summit of the Farrenberg .
