József Dobronyi

József Dobronyi (born June 17, 1917 in Budapest ; † March 24, 1993 ibid.) Was a Hungarian marathon runner .

In 1949 he was sixth in the Košice marathon in 2:40:30 h. In 1951 he won a marathon in Budapest in 2:32:19 h. The following year he was Hungarian champion in 2:32:38 h and thus qualified for the 1952 Olympic Games in Helsinki, where he was seventh in 2:28:05 h. In autumn he finished second in Košice in 2:32:42 h.

In 1953 he defended his national championship title in 2:35:05 h, won the marathon of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Bucharest in 2:30:30 h and won a marathon in Budapest with his personal best of 2:27:46 h .

In 1955 he was seventh in Košice in 2:29:20 h. Other national titles followed in 1956, 1959 and 1960.
