Jörg Frischmann

Jörg Frischmann (* 1963 ) is a German disabled athlete .

Life

Jörg Frischmann is severely disabled due to a leg amputation . Since he still competitive sports would operate, he joined the TSV Bayer Leverkusen on. He chose athletics as a competitive sport , in which the shot put was his favorite discipline.

Since his athletic achievements justified it, he was appointed to the German national team for handicapped people, with which he took part in the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona . At these games he was Olympic champion and gold medalist in the shot put . For this success he was awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf by Federal President Richard von Weizsäcker in 1993.

After completing his active sports career and studying at the sports university in Cologne , he became a full-time employee as managing director of the parasport department of TSV Bayer Leverkusen and part-time member of the board of the German Disabled Sports Association .

Frischmann is married and has two children.
