Jörg Michael Kastl

Jörg Michael Kastl (born July 10, 1962 in Esslingen am Neckar ) is a German sociologist . He is professor of sociology of disability and social disadvantage at the Faculty of Special Education of the University of Education Ludwigsburg .

Kastl studied sociology and philosophy at the University of Tuebingen , put 1989, his master's from -Examen and in 1993 a doctorate . He then worked as an assistant at the Sociological Institute at the University of Tübingen and qualified as a professor in 1999 in sociology. Research projects followed in the areas of rehabilitation , disability and mental illness . After a substitute professorship (focus on family and youth sociology ) at the University of Frankfurt am Main , he became a professor at the Ludwigsburg University of Education (Reutlingen branch).

His work focuses on general sociology and sociological theory as well as the sociology of the body, memory, disability, mental illness and rehabilitation.
