Jörg Schimmelpfennig

Jörg Schimmelpfennig (* 1955 in Berlin ) is a German economist .

Life

Between 1973 and 1979 he studied mathematics , economics and physics in Bielefeld . In 1985 he received his doctorate from the University of Osnabrück , where he also completed his habilitation in economics in 1992 . Before joining the Ruhr University in Bochum , Schimmelpfennig taught at the Ernst Moritz Arndt University of Greifswald and the Saarland University . He holds the chair for Theoretical Economics II (Theoretical and Applied Microeconomics ) at the Ruhr University Bochum.

Research priorities

His research deals with general problems in the fields of microeconomics and game theory . He also deals with the cost estimate of the natural monopoly, as well as questions about the privatization and regulation of the railway.
