Jörgen Hansen

Jörgen Hansen (born April 25, 1885 in Brandsbüll ; † 1963 ) was a German geographer and professor at the University for Teacher Training in Kiel.

After working as a primary school teacher in Hadersleben , he studied history, geography and theology in Kiel. In 1913 he received his doctorate in Kiel on the land constitution of the villages on the island of Alsen in the 17th and 18th centuries . He became a seminary teacher in Tondern . In 1926 he was appointed lecturer for geography and folklore , in 1927 professor at the Pedagogical Academy in Kiel , which in 1933 became the college for teacher training (HfL). After the closure he taught at the HfL Hannover and in Bayreuth and Dortmund. Since 1932 he was a member of the NSDAP . In November 1933 he signed the professors' declaration of Adolf Hitler at German universities and colleges . From 1934 he was a Gausach officer for geography and geopolitics and carried out training courses. Even after 1945 he published geographic books.
