The Jewish cemetery in Dolní Kounice (German Kanitz ), a town in the Okres Brno-venkov in the Czech Republic , was established around 1680. The Jewish cemetery has been a protected cultural monument since 1988 .

history

The old Jewish cemetery, which dates from the 14th century, was replaced around 1680 by a new cemetery on a slope above the ghetto district. It served as a burial place until 1939/1940. Around 1500 tombstones ( Mazevot ) are still preserved in the cemetery today . Also some from the medieval cemetery who were moved here.
