The Jewish cemetery in Gau-Algesheim , a town in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was probably laid out at the beginning of the 19th century. The 10.47 ares large Jewish cemetery is located northeast of the city in the Flur Am Judensand .

The cemetery was used as a burial place for the Jewish communities of Gau-Algesheim and Ockenheim . The last burial took place in 1937 (Rosa Nathan nee Marx). Over 30 tombstones from the first half of the 19th to the early 20th century are still preserved.

The cemetery was desecrated during the November pogroms in 1938 . Numerous gravestones were overturned by a group of SA men.
