The Jewish cemetery in Essenheim , a local community in the Mainz-Bingen district in Rhineland-Palatinate , was established in 1877. The 4.18 ares large Jewish cemetery is at the end of the village on Wackernheimer Straße.

After desecration during the National Socialist era , the cemetery was restored in 1954. 26 tombstones are still preserved in the cemetery today .

The Jewish cemetery is the only surviving material evidence of the once flourishing Jewish community, along with the preserved stone of the former synagogue in Klappergasse, consecrated in 1857. To commemorate the victims, Stolpersteine ​​were laid in front of the houses at Hauptstrasse 28, Neubrunnenstrasse 2 and Hauptstrasse 9 on March 14, 2016 by the artist Gunter Demnig . During the “Street of History” 2016 in Essenheim, Station 8 showed the history of the Jewish community.
