Jewish cemetery (Grevesmühlen)

The Jewish cemetery Grevesmühlen is a cemetery in Grevesmühlen ( Northwest Mecklenburg District , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ).

The Jewish cemetery is on Vielbecker Weg. There are no more gravestones on it , but a memorial stone that was erected in 1948.

history

The cemetery was laid out in 1877. It was no longer used in the 1930s. In 1933 the last four Jews from Grevesmühlen emigrated. After that, the small Jewish cemetery fell into disrepair. During the Nazi era - in 1940 - it was desecrated and destroyed. To this day, the cemetery is maintained by the city and preserved as a memorial.
