Jewish cemetery (Neustadt an der Weinstrasse)
The Jewish cemetery Neustadt an der Weinstrasse is located on Robert-Stolz-Strasse and the corner of Harthäuserweg in Neustadt an der Weinstrasse , a town in Rhineland-Palatinate .
The cemetery is a protected cultural monument . It was laid out in 1862, expanded in 1922 and is still used today. The memorial stone in the cemetery with the inscription to commemorate the victims from the Palatinate was originally erected in 1954 on the site of the synagogue that was destroyed in 1938 . The cemetery has an area of 48.50 acres and about 540 gravestones ( Mazevot ) are still there.
The mourning hall (architect: Matthias Lichtenberger ), which was built between 1885 and 1891 in the oriental style, is still preserved.
