Jewish cemetery (Sien)

The Jewish cemetery Sien is located to the southeast, a long way outside the municipality of Sien , near the so-called Upper Jungewald . It was probably created in the 18th century.

history

The cemetery is first mentioned in a document in 1841. It was laid out earlier, however, as the oldest gravestone dates from the end of the 18th century. It served as a burial place for members of the Sien Jewish community. The cemetery covers an area of ​​approx. 6 a and is a listed cultural monument . A total of 48 tombstones have been preserved. The tombstones are still unchanged in their original position.
