The Hamm Jewish Cemetery in Hamm ( Altenkirchen district (Westerwald) ) is located a little south of the community. It is a protected cultural monument .

history

The scale of about 1,700 cemetery is located just south of the town of Hamm ( district Jewish cemetery south of the local situation towards Thalhauser mill). The cemetery covers an area of ​​18.24 acres . Today 109 tombstones are still preserved. It served as a burial place for the members of the Jewish community in Hamm . In 1902 the cemetery was desecrated . The cemetery was devastated during the November pogroms in 1938 and restored in 1945. In 1985 the cemetery was listed as a historical monument .
