Kolinec Jewish Quarter

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Jewish quarter in Kolinec (German Kolinetz, also Kollinetz), district Okres Klatovy , Plzeňský kraj region , Czech Republic , has existed around the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, although the settlement of the city is older: the Bohemian berní rula , that is the tax roll from 1654, mentions four Jewish people in Kolinec at this time, and in 1837 seven houses (and the synagogue) are occupied. The houses were south and west of the market square. Some have been preserved to this day (but not in their original state).
