Jürgen-Detlef Kuckein

Jürgen-Detlef Kuckein (born February 27, 1944 in Königsberg ) was a judge at the German Federal Court of Justice from 1994 to 2009 .

Life

In 1975 Kuckein finished his legal training and entered the higher justice service in Bavaria , where he was initially appointed as a probationary judge . In 1978 he became a public prosecutor and in 1981 a judge at the district court of Würzburg . From 1983 to 1986 he was seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant. He then continued his work as a public prosecutor and was promoted to senior public prosecutor in 1992. In 1994 Kuckein was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice and assigned to the 4th Criminal Division of the Federal Court of Justice , to which he belonged until his retirement. He also represented this Senate in the Grand Senate for Criminal Matters and in the Joint Senate of the highest federal courts . Kuckein was also an investigative judge.

Kuckein was initially a lecturer at the University of Würzburg , and since 2000 at the University of Tübingen . The law faculty of the University of Tübingen awarded him the title of honorary professor for criminal law and criminal procedure law in 2003 . He also teaches at the German Lawyers Academy.
