Jürgen Becker (State Secretary)

Jürgen Becker (born May 5, 1953 in Troisdorf ) is a German lawyer and was State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety from November 2009 to 2013 .

education and profession

After graduating from high school in Siegburg, Becker studied law in Bonn and entered the civil service after completing his studies. In 1986 Becker became an employee in the pension insurance department at the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs . He then became a personal advisor to Federal Minister Norbert Blüm before he was appointed office manager for Wolfgang Vogt and Horst Günter. After his promotion to Ministerialrat , he was appointed Head of Budget and Organization and later as Ministerial Director . In 2009 Norbert Röttgen appointed him to the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety as State Secretary.

He is also parliamentary group leader of the CDU in the city council of Siegburg.

Private

Jürgen Becker was baptized a Roman Catholic, married to Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker and has three children.
