Jürgen Henze (politician)

Jürgen Henze (born November 15, 1937 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

Henze, who is of Protestant faith, worked after studying pedagogy as the director of the Elisabeth Foundation in Birkenfeld . He has been honorary chairman of the local sports club VfR Baumholder since 1988 , of which he was first chairman for 13 years.

Politics
The SPD came Henze at the 1965th Just four years later he became the district chairman of the Social Democrats in the Birkenfeld district . He was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament from 1971 to 1991. From 1984 to 1994 he was the city mayor of Baumholder , after which he chaired the local SPD parliamentary group for eight years. In April 2009 he was elected honorary chairman of the SPD Baumholder.

Honor

The state of Rhineland-Palatinate honored him in 1992 with the award of the Freiherr vom Stein plaque .
