Jürgen Körner

Jürgen Körner (born May 16, 1943 in Erfurt ) is a graduate psychologist, psychoanalyst and professor emeritus for social education at the Free University of Berlin .

He studied psychology and zoology in Göttingen from 1966 to 1971, and received his doctorate in 1976 in social sciences and politics. disc. pole. He is a psychoanalyst and training analyst of the DPG , of which he was chairman from 1995 to 2001, as well as the DGPT and the IPA .

Körner was the "founding father" of the Denkzeit Society , founded in July 2003 , an association that set itself the task of "promoting scientifically based methods of psychosocial work with young people" and, in particular, young offenders.

Together with Christa Rohde-Dachser , he founded the International Psychoanalytic University Berlin (IPU) in 2009 as the first psychoanalytic university in Germany. Until 2012 he was founding president of the IPU. In 2015 he founded the working group of psychodynamic professors and has been leading it ever since.

Jürgen Körner is the founder and editor of the Forum of Psychoanalysis .

His research areas include the theory and method of psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic pedagogy, juvenile delinquency and human-animal relationships.
