Jürgen Margref

Jürgen Margref (born January 6, 1969 in Cologne ) is a former German soccer player .

career

In 1990 Margref moved from the youth of Rot-Weiss Essen to the first team. He quickly became a regular player and played 201 games for RWE in the second and third division, 53 of which were in the second division (4 goals). In the course of the license withdrawal from Rot-Weiss Essen, the midfielder left the club and played for another 2 years for Sportfreunde Siegen , where he was barely promoted to the second Bundesliga twice (70 games in League 3). He let his career end at SSVg Velbert . In 2003 he started as a player coach at Sportfreunde Niederwenigern from Hattingen , where he still works as a coach today.

His greatest success, in addition to two promotions to the second Bundesliga, was participation in the 1994 DFB Cup final (3-1 defeat against Werder Bremen ).

Since 1996 he has been running a football school together with ex-professional footballer Dirk Helmig . In 2004 they opened the soccer school in a separate hall in Duisburg under the company name Helmig & Margref GbR .

Jürgen Margref lives in Hattingen, is married and has two sons.
