Jürgen Rost (born August 12, 1952 ; † July 1, 2017 ) was a German psychologist.

Through empirical studies and theoretical-conceptual contributions in the national and international psychological specialist literature, he has made a significant contribution to the greater consideration of probabilistic test theory in research and practice. His "Textbook Test Theory - Test Construction", published in the second edition in 2004, is regarded as a German-language standard work with regard to the application of probabilistic test models (especially the Rasch family) in applied psychological diagnostics.
