Jürgen Schaufuss

Jürgen Schaufuss (born December 31, 1940 in Halle / Saale) is a German SPD politician .

education and profession

After attending elementary school and high school, Jürgen Schaufuß passed his Abitur in 1961. He then attended the universities of teacher education in Münster and Bonn. In 1964 he passed the first state examination for teaching at elementary schools, and in 1968 the second state examination. From 1970 to 1973 he worked as a specialist at the district seminar for teaching at primary and secondary schools in Brühl. From 1973 he was rector of the Brühl-West elementary school. According to the law on parliament (AbgG NW), he left office in 1980.

politics

Jürgen Schaufuss has been a member of the SPD since 1962. From 1975 to 1984 he was a member of the district council of the Erftkreis. In 1970 he became a member of the Frechen City Council; from 1975 to 1988 he was parliamentary group leader of the SPD. From 1979 to 1984 he was the first deputy mayor of the city of Frechen, from March 1988 mayor and from August 1996 full-time mayor.

Schaufuß has been a member of the Education and Science Union since 1963. From 1972 to 1982 he acted as chairman of the GEW in the Erftkreis. He is the chairman of the Frechen handball club.

Jürgen Schaufuss was from May 29, 1980 to August 31, 1996 for the constituency 010 Erftkreis II directly elected member of the 9th , 10th , 11th and 12th state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia, from which he left early.
