Jürgen Sikora

Jürgen Sikora (born May 5, 1943 in Gliwice ) is a German politician (CDU). From 1978 to 1992 he was a member of the state parliament in Lower Saxony and then until 1998 a member of the Bundestag.

Sikora graduated from secondary school in 1959 and then started as a civil servant candidate at the tax office in Goslar. He finished his training in 1962. From 1963 to 1965 he did his basic military service in the German armed forces and then returned to the financial administration, where he was employed until 1971. In 1969 he joined the CDU. From 1971 until his election to the state parliament in 1978, he worked for the tax office in Wolfenbüttel in the auditing service. In the 1970s he was first deputy chairman and later chairman of the CDU city association of Goslar. From 1972 to 1992 he was in the city council of Goslar, since 1979 as CDU parliamentary group leader. From 1974 to 1992 he was also a member of the district council of the Goslar district. In the ninth electoral term he became a member of the Lower Saxony state parliament. He belonged to this until the twelfth electoral term, which he did not end. On June 17, 1992, he left the Lower Saxony state parliament when he replaced Herbert Helmrich in the German Bundestag. From 1992 to 1994 he was a full member of the Petitions Committee and the Committee for Regional Planning, Building and Urban Development. In the latter committee he was also in the 13th electoral term, into which he had been directly elected in constituency 47 (Goslar). After the Bundestag election in 1998, Sikora left the Bundestag.
