Jürgen Waidele's Conversation or Waidele's Conversation for short is a soul band around the singer and pianist Jürgen Waidele, who was born in Weil am Rhein in 1953 , grew up in Allensbach and currently lives in Constance . The autodidact appeared under his own name for the first time at the end of the 1970s. The name Conversation first appeared in the press in 1984 . The band plays in different line-ups, initially as a conversation big band , and for some time in a combo format. The band tours mainly in southwest Germany.

music

The music of the conversation is based on jazz and soul influences. Waidele likes to cover jazz standards, but also plays a number of his own compositions. Vocally Waidele is based on old-school soul singers like Wilson Pickett , Otis Redding , Arthur Conley and Solomon Burke , but also on more recent formations like Jamiroquai . In his sphere of activity he is referred to as the " Al Jarreau of Lake Constance".

In the last few years the following core line-up has emerged: Jürgen Waidele (piano), Elysa Kay (vocals), Alexander Friedrich (drums), Pele Keller (bass), Rainer Apel (guitar) and Arno Haas (saxophone). The Swiss singer Lilly Thornton is welcome as a guest.
