JH Williams III
JH "Jim" Williams III (* 1965 ) is an American comic artist.
Life
Williams, whose great-uncle was the well-known country musician Hank Williams , began working as a full-time comic book artist in the late 1980s. After some early temporary work, such as at the Batman Annual in 1989, Williams received his first regular engagement in 1994 with the drawing assignment for the four-part miniseries Deathwish , published by Milestone Media .
In the late 1990s, Williams was mainly active for the major American publisher DC Comics . For DC, from 1998 to 1999, Williams drew the series Chase , written by Dan Curtis Johnson , a mixture of mystery and crimecomic, the - written by John Francis Moore - issue # 1,000,000 of the series Chronos , and the comic novels The Justice Riders (by Chuck Dixon ) and Son of Superman (by Howard Chaykin ). Together with Warren Ellis , Williams created the Desolation Jones series in the late 1990s .
Between 1999 and 2005 Williams presented his best-known work to date with the drawings for the idiosyncratic series Promethea written by Alan Moore . In 2005/2006 he also illustrated several booklets from Grant Morrison's Seven Soldiers project.
Williams' most recent work can be found in the Batman series , for which he has been a regular draftsman since 2007. His partner is again Morrison.
