The JILA , founded as JILA , is a physical research institute of the University of Colorado in Boulder , on whose campus is located, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).

At JILA, atomic physics , molecular physics , laser physics , astrophysics , optics , nanosciences, biophysics, chemical physics and high-precision measurements are carried out. Physicists at JILA include Nobel Prize winners John Lewis Hall and Eric Cornell and physicists Deborah Jin , Margaret Murnane , Henry Kapteyn, and Peter Zoller .
