Jaakko Mäntyjärvi (born May 27, 1963 in Turku ) is a Finnish composer . He studied musicology , English philology and linguistics at the University of Helsinki and is a full-time translator . He also studied music theory and choral conducting . He mainly wrote and writes works for choirs .

Musical style and effect

Mäntyjärvi's works are often described as traditionally influenced, moderately modern and humorous. Even if they are very popular with many choirs and their audiences, his works are not yet widely distributed, at least in German-speaking countries.
