Jabberwocky (card game)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jabberwocky (also known as " China Poker ") is a card game for 3 - 5 people that is played with 52 cards.

The goal is 13 laps the respective stitches that you will make to predict correctly. The player who guesses this most often wins the game.

Deal cards

At the beginning of the first round, each player receives 3 cards. Then the top of the remaining cards is revealed. The suit of this card determines the trump suit.

The number of cards increases by one in each round, up to a maximum of 9 cards per player. After that, the number of cards is reduced by one in each round. After 13 rounds, when the players have received 3 cards again, the game ends.

Estimate the number of stitches

The player after the dealer starts the first game by guessing the number of tricks to be taken (a number from 0 to the number of cards in hand).

The other players follow with their estimates. The last player must choose his number in such a way that the number of tricks does not equal the number of cards (or possible tricks) (so that it is not possible for all players to score points in a round).

The game

The player who made the first guess also starts the game by playing any card. For the following players there is compulsory color; if they don't have that suit, they can play any card.

A trick cannot be started with a trump card, unless trumps have already been played in previous tricks (or “trump has already been broken ”).

The player who played the highest card of the suit of the first played card wins the trick, unless trump cards were also played. Then the player who played the highest of these cards wins. The winner starts the next trick.

The round ends when all cards have been played.

Billing

At the end of the round, each player who accurately predicted his tricks receives one point (otherwise none).

The player (s) with the most points after 13 rounds wins.
