Radio service for small and sport shipping

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Radio service for small and sport shipping is a publication of the German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH). This official sea book is intended to provide motor and sailing yachts at sea with information on marine radio and special services such as B. NAVTEX , location and weather information ensure greater security. Until 2012 the book was published as a yacht radio service .

The publication is an extract from the much broader Nautical Radio Service and the ground radio services, which are primarily to the commercial shipping contact. While marine radio equipment is largely required for commercial shipping ( see also SOLAS ), sport and recreational shipping are largely free to participate in radiotelephone and information services. Equipment is only required for charter yachts with a length of more than 12 m.

The radio service for small and sport shipping appears annually. The weekly news for seafarers (NfS) and an online reporting service of the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency ensure that the information is updated.
