Jack Molinas

Jacob L. Molinas (born October 31, 1931 , † August 3, 1975 in Hollywood , California ) was an American basketball player and the central figure in the betting scandal that rocked the NBA in the 50s and resulted in lifelong bans for numerous players such as Connie Hawkins (later suspended) led. Molinas was sentenced to ten years in prison for his betting business, but was released after five years. Molinas maintained contact with New York mob boss Tommy Eboli .
