Jacky Galou

Jacky Galou (* 10. December 1942 in Paris as Jacques Galou ) is a French singer and above all for his children's music known.

Life

At the age of 17 his father gave him a guitar for his successful entrance examination at the École Normale des instituteurs (teacher training) in Paris . He became a teacher and used the guitar in class. At the age of 21 he made his first recordings in Studio SM, but the sale was unprofitable. Nevertheless, he decided to make children's songs and children's music. Didier Arundel from Melody World produced several singles and an LP with him. In the 1970s he appeared on TV shows a few times and sang songs like Nagawicka, Taupinette Mr. Anatole etc. For 14 years he traveled through France in a VW minibus. He sang in Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Norway and several times in Canada. He rearranged many cowboy songs and Irish ballads and wrote French lyrics. In the 1980s the demand subsided and he returned to the teaching profession.

In the 90s Jacky Galou managed to record some of his records on CD and the new beginning with new children's songs for various labels (SM Studio, Enfance et Musique, Scolavox) was successful.
