Jacky Hénin (born November 12, 1960 in Douai ) is a French journalist and politician of the Parti communiste (PCF).

Life

Hénin studied at the Lille University of Science and Technology . From 2000 to 2008 he was mayor of the French city of Calais, succeeding Jean-Jacques Barthe . In the mayoral elections in 2008 he was defeated by Natacha Bouchart . Hénin has been a member of the European Parliament since 2004 , where he belongs to the Confederal Group of the European United Left / Nordic Green Left . He is a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy and the Delegation for relations with the People's Republic of China. He is a deputy on the Committee on International Trade .
