Jacob Hosang
Johann Jacob Peter Hosang (born October 28, 1840 in Sommersdorf ; † February 20, 1927 there ) was a farmer, mine owner and member of the German Reichstag .
Life
Hosang attended secondary school in Magdeburg and then learned agriculture and in 1866 took over his father's estate in Sommersdorf with 282 acres of arable land. He also ran a coal mine. From 1860 until autumn 1861 he served in the 4th Jäger Battalion. He was mayor and since 1881 a member of the district council. In 1890 he founded the Sommersdorf volunteer fire brigade as a fire chief , which he headed until his death. He also founded the Jakob-und-Elise-Hosang-Stift for invalids on the Königsberg mountain in Sommersdorfer.
From 1890 to 1907 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Magdeburg 5 Neuhaldensleben , Wolmirstedt and the National Liberal Party .
