Jacqueline de Bueil
Jacqueline de Bueil, comtesse de Moret (* 1588 ; † 1651 in Moret-sur-Loing ) was a mistress of the French King Henry IV.
Life
Jacqueline came from an impoverished aristocratic family. She was the daughter of Claude de Bueil and his wife Catherine de Monteclerc. On October 5, 1604 married Jacqueline de Bueil in Paris Philippe de Harlay Champvallon, comte de cesy. Three years later the childless marriage was annulled, Philippe remarried and became the French ambassador to Turkey.
Through Charlotte de La Trémoille, the princess of Condé and wife of Henri I de Bourbon , whose ward Jacqueline was, she attracted the king's favor and temporarily ousted his long-time lover Catherine Henriette de Balzac d'Entragues . From the affair with Heinrich a son emerged, Antoine de Bourbon-Bueil , comte de Moret, whom the king legitimized in 1608 and raised together with all his other children.
Jacqueline de Bueil had several lovers, including the Duke of Chevreuse, Claude de Lorraine , Prince of Joinville .
Seven years after the king's assassination, Jacqueline married her distant cousin René du Bec, marquis de Vardes, with whom she had other children.
