Jacques Cellard
Jacques Cellard (* 1920 in Paris ; † November 11, 2004 ibid) was a French author, romance scholar, lexicographer and argotologist.
life and work
Cellard became an elementary school teacher in 1958 after various occupations. He studied linguistics, was the author of the linguistic chronicle “La vie du langage” for the daily newspaper Le Monde from 1971 to 1985 and published numerous popular linguistic writings and dictionaries, as well as (erotic) novels and biographies. Cellard was a connoisseur of the argot . He translated Kafka.
