Jacques Natan

Jacques Primo Natan ( Bulgarian Жак Натан , born October 28, 1902 in Sofia ; † March 3, 1974 ibid) was a Bulgarian economist and economic historian.

Life

Natan had been a member of the Bulgarian Communist Party since 1920 . In 1930 he studied in the Soviet Union at the International Lenin School in Moscow . From 1949 he worked as a professor of political economy. Natan was a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences .

In his scientific work he dealt in particular with the economic history of the time of the Bulgarian Revival . He also dealt with political economy and the history of economics. Above all, however, he was considered the founder of Marxist-Leninist economics in Bulgaria.

Natan was awarded the Hero of Socialist Labor and the Dimitrov Prize.
