Jacques Schmidt
Jacques Schmidt ( March 16, 1933 in Briançon , Hautes-Alpes - September 8, 1996 in Paris ) was a French costume designer .
In August 1952 Schmidt worked for the first time in a Persian theater production in Freiburg i. Br. Involved. From 1960 he designed the costumes for several hundred theater productions. He worked regularly with Antoine Bourseiller , Patrice Chéreau and Roger Planchon . With Pierre Boulez as conductor, Chereau as director and Richard Peduzzi as set designer, he was responsible for the Ring of the Century (1976–1980), which renewed the Bayreuth Festival .
In 1995 Jacques Schmidt designed the costumes for Le nozze di Figaro at the Salzburg Festival .
