Jacques Suzanne

Albert Jacques Suzanne (born April 17, 1880 in Trouville-sur-Mer , † August 1, 1967 in Lake Placid ) was a French artist and actor .

Life

Jacques Suzanne studied at the Art School in Le Havre . Shortly afterwards he went to Paris to study further at the Académie Colarossi . Here he met his fellow student Emma Juliette Isabelle DuChemin and married on December 3, 1903. A year later, his wife died giving birth to their child.

In 1905 Jacques Suzanne entered the United States via Ellis Island and worked in various professions. In response to a newspaper advertisement in 1908, he joined Robert Edwin Peary's polar expedition .

In the 1930s he lived with his second wife, Anne Moynihan, an Inuk , and their four children in Lake Placid. Jacques Suzanne worked as a tourist guide and raised huskies for sled dog races as well as for the film industry.
