Jacques de Hemricourt

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jacques de Hemricourt (* 1333 in Liège (Liège), † 1403 in Liège) was a French-speaking writer. Two of his works are inspired by the regional history of the city of Liège: Le miroir des nobles de Hesbaye and the Traité des guerres d'Awans et de Waroux (1296-1335) . In his descriptions, like his contemporary Jean Froissart , he laments the decline of chivalry and the rise of the democratic system of rule.
